Christmas Concert at The Colosseum

Watford Philharmonic Society’s ever popular family carol concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14 December at the Watford Colosseum will be the occasion when Stuart Dunlop, now Director of Music at Reading University, conducts the Society for the last time. Humphrey Burton will once again host the evening.

As ever there will be plenty of audience participation in the singing of favourite carols and the opportunity for children in the audience to perform from the stage – this year their carols will be Away in a Manger and Silent Night. The programme includes well loved choruses from Handel’s Messiah, Prokofiev’s Troika and Humperdinck’s Overture: Hansel and Gretel and concludes with the traditional resounding Ring Out Wild Bells. The Society hope for a full house to celebrate Christmas with them and to wish Stuart Dunlop farewell.

Tickets priced at £10.50 and £12.50, with children half price, may be obtained from members of the Watford Philharmonic Society or by telephoning our Ticket Secretary on 01923 449458. Tickets will also be on sale at the door on the night of the performance.
